Para Acabar Com A Gracinha

Para Acabar com a Gracinha (To Finish Off Gracinha / the Funny Business), collectively developed and written by Franco Cammilleri, is an original play addressing the rise of fascist, violent and dehumanising ideologies, through a comedic and absurd narrative.
This bold provocation is posed through one nuclear, white, conservative family of good christian values, used to leading a “pink perfect” life, as they sit down to eat breakfast. Today, the father, the patriarch, the leader of the family, has woken up determined and driven by one single truth: his mother-in-law, Grandma Graça, must be killed, and this purifying act must be done by all, united as one.
Throughout the single act play, each family member is seduced to adhere to this absurd proposal, in the name of progress, of growth, of the future, of family and religion.
