Aqui Estamos de Pé (Here We Are Standing Up) revisits Betold Brecht’s playlet Consulting The People, from the play Fear and Misery in the Third Reich, and reinvents it in a contemporary piece. Collectively devised by the performers, it intertwines the original text by Brecht with letters by historic figures involved in power struggles; Carta de Amor by Maria Bethânia; chants and gestus of resistance borrowed from popular movements; and choreographic elements, developed through research study on falling and imbalance.
